The Book of the Law by Aleister Crowley.
Spine text:
The Liber AL vel Legis or Book of the Law is a book of revelations by the British occultist Aleister Crowley, published in London in 1909. It was the first volume of Crowley's book series The Equinox and is the basis of the new religious movement Thelema.
According to Crowley himself, the text was dictated to him by a spirit being called Aiwass in April 1904.
According to his Confessions, Aleister Crowley was in Cairo with his wife Rose Kelly. In the Egyptian Museum, she led him to the stele of Ankh-af-na-Khonsu, which is later referred to in Liber AL vel Legis as the Stele of Revelation, and where he undertook an invocation of Horus.
